    Grolsch bottles - Birmingham

I got in touch on facebook marketplace. Sure i can get a number if you need? Its hard to find! On the industrial estate where the tumble jungle is. Fortunately the only label is on the neck and relatively easy to peel off. I also despise cleaninf bottles but can justify it for swing tops at...

    Grolsch bottles - Birmingham

Found some grolsch bottles a local bar has saved up and are selling for £1 a box (12 in a box). They need a good clean but seems a bargain to snap up a fair few. They have over 900 so no shortage. Route 69 bar in lifford lane, cotteridge. Let me know if you want details. Sent from my...

    Stock pot conversion

I won't bother with building one then, im not the best at DIY so I'd be asking for something to go wrong! Will insulate my tun more as i only so single temp mash anyway.

    Stock pot conversion

Again, thanks all for your help. Will get researching elements and likely go for a 4.5kw and 3kw. Off topic query, who uses a HERMS/RIMS? Or does an insulated stock pot maintain temp fairly well? (Cant wait to get my first brew going to find out first hand! But whilst im making amends i...

    Stock pot conversion

Awesome, cheers for thw advice. Ill get 2 elements then, likely a 4.5kw and 3kw to give a boost to get to a boil. Im surprised that 3kw can maintain a rolling boil. Does anyone know where you can get Camco elements in the UK? Cant seem to find them without extortionate shipping. Ill get...

    Stock pot conversion

Thanks for your thoughts. Obviously gas is ideal but given its a converted loft i've got the space in i dont feel comfortable using a gas burner! I've got a sparky mate who's wiring this up for me with a new fuse box from the incoming supply so i can get circa 7/8kw power for the elements to...

    Stock pot conversion

Hi all, Really sorry if this has been posted elsewhere but i cant seem to find it. I've got a 100l converted stock pot brewery from ebay. Its brilliant but the kettle is fuelled by a gas burner so i want to add some angry elements to make it safer for indoor use (and allow for future...

    Diacetyl flavour query

I think the by product is simply acetyl that the yeast then clean up after running out of the easy sugars to feed on. Thanks all for your advice, ill cut out the oxygenation as it seems an unnecessary risk and be more patient with my fermenter. I have just got a new exciting SS kit with a...

    Diacetyl flavour query

Embarassingly I think you might have hit the nail on the head there henteaser! It has caused a slightly more dodgy beer stomach to put it politely haha Quick read around looks like its caused by infection and over oxygenating and can produce diacetyl as a side effect.
