Golden summer beer recipe from the home-brew handbook

Thats sort of what i thought. I only want it about 4-4.5% so will probably adjust the grain bill down a bit to 4.5kg's?

Golden summer beer recipe from the home-brew handbook

HI All, Has anyone brewed the golden summer beer recipe from the home-brew handbook (Dave law and Beshlie Grimes)? Im thinking of brewing it this weekend but the original gravity and final % seems off to me? The original gravity is 1073 and final is 1010 giving a %of only 4.5%. Surely an...

Beginners Guide to Water Treatment (plus links to more advanced water treatment in post #1)

the last coupe of years my brews have not been their best and i got a water report from Murpheys. I followed their guidelines for Water treatment but never that happy. Ive recently done a brew (big Kenny) following the procedure outlined at the beginning of the post and the beer was fantastic...

Adnams best recipe from original wheeler book

    Hop rocket versus dry hopping

I've used all sorts of brass objects to weigh down my bags:shock: Im hoping the hop rocket will replace the need for dry hopping. Im doing a Punk spa clone tomorrow so i might split it into two batches - hop rocket one and dry hop the other:-)

    Hop rocket versus dry hopping

Hi All, I'm still in the early days of using my Hop Rocket and wondered whether anyone knows whether using a hop rocket after the boil when transferring into the FV is better (for nice hoppy aroma) than dry hopping? I've always found it difficult to fully submerge my hops in muslin bags...

    Kölsch question

Sounds ok to me. I would also raise the temp to 19 for a diacytle (not sure if spellings right!) rest to clean up the taste and then on to the lagering. I made one this summer and my German friends from Cologne verified its taste! Lovely clean and fresh tasting! I left mine for 4 weeks at 0.5c

    Hop rocket users

Sounds interesting, but why back to the boiler after going through chiller plates and not into fermenter? Trying to catch cold break?

    Hop rocket users

I'm keen to use my hop rocket between boiler and chiller for my next brew. My issue Is that I normally do a 75l brew length. Does a hop rocket with 100g of hops (nice and hoppy!) need to be refilled after 25l? Would I notice a significant drop in hoppiness in a brew length of this length?
