    Brewers Spring, Pilsner

Well, got this one as it had been reduced from £30 to £20 in LHBS. Looks a good kit, big bladder full of fresh wort with a bag of Saaz hop pellets included. It also includes a coopers yeast which I think is acually an ale yeast, although could be wrong. Made it up as per instructions and got...

    best lager kit ?

Anybody get round to doing the Brewers spring pilsner? Iv'e just got one on and absolutely no krausen after 48 hours :wha: Big thick layer of **** at the bottom of the FV though, but i'm thinking that the Bentonite the kit said to add had just caused all the yeast to drop out? Followed all...

    Coopers, English Bitter

Well tried this last night, first pint from the Keg and have to say out of the 9 brews i have done so far it is easily the best (even better than the wherry). Dont know how i have done it but it was crystal clear after a week in Keg and Bottles and has a fantastic creamy head which lasts all...

    Coopers, English Bitter

High hopes for this one....Temp was perfectly stable at 21 C for 16 days. Kegged most of it and bottled a few and its crystal clear already. Didnt bother trying it as due the crappy head cold i wouldnt have tasted anything anyway. Hopefully i'll be able to leave this alone for a while as well...

    fermentation fridge how to ??

OK.....so got my fridge......FREE from guy down road. Got my STC 1000 and a 45W greenhouse heater. Going to tackle this project at the weekend and then somehow fire the temps readings into a graph on my Raspberry Pi PC and try to control them over Internet ( just for the hell of it). Will...

    Coopers, English Bitter

Got one of these on yesterday. Noticed in instructions that it only asks for 500g DME? I did it with 400g light DME and 500g Dextrose as thats what i had lying around and ive always added at least a kilo of other fermentables to a 1 can kit. Got an OG of 1040. Do you reckon this will affect...

    Coopers Original Stout Review

Yeah thinking of a possible re-pitch too. Going to leave it till next Monday; that will have been 16 days then and if still stuck at 1018 then will wack in another packet and leave for a bit longer! On the plus side it smells gorgeous :)

    Coopers Original Stout Review

OK........so my third brew and after reading all good things on here decided to give it a whirl. Made up the kit with 500g of DME, 500g Dextrose and a tin of treacle (494g). Then like a fool forgot to take a OG  Anyway pitched yeast at 22C and it has been at that constantly for 9...

    Brew #2 - Woodforde's Wherry

Done a Wherry myself for my 1st brew which has been kegged for a week now. Going to move out into the garage this weekend to cool down for a couple of weeks before I taste it so i'll be interested to compare. Got a coopers lager on the go now which will have been in FV for a week on Saturday...
