Beer brewing equipment up for sale

2 main reasons i guess: I got a bit frustrated, by the lack of consistency i could achieve with my brews, and one too many leaky taps. But mainly, I just need the time for other things atm.

Beer brewing equipment up for sale

*chuckle* Sorry to exclude so many, through not 'posting' my wares... Perhaps there's money-making opportunity here: Buy a van & trundle around the country uniting eager (but tipsy) brewers with unwanted brew kit!

    STRONG Beer ;)

Hi all, I'm your beer kit brewer. Experimentation for me = addition of some spray malt to a pressure barrel. Thassall. However, with my current brew I tried to strengthen it... and I think it's worked. I brewed a Woodforde Wherry short by about 4 litres, and have added 200g soft brown sugar...

    When homebrew goes wrong

Hi, My disasters have fallen into the following two categories: - cleanliness: unwanted flavours/tastes/smells from (i tend to assume) unclean equipment or ingredients, or - taps/pressure: leaking taps/accidental 'glugging' My whole strategy is about simplicity - I've been brewing simply from...

Beginner - Help with leaking tap

Hi all, Thanks for this discussion - found myself here for tips when preparing a barrel this morning. Now, I've only been brewing a few years, but thought sharing my experiences might contribute something to the discussion re. leaks. For me, there's 3 things: 1 - Ensure equipment is in good...

    Munton's Gold Midas Touch Review

As promised (mainly to myself) have brewed this a second time. Into the FV (back on 22nd Feb 2014!) a little short of the 23 litres recommended, for 12 days, then barrelled with spraymalt and soft brown sugar (about 40-45g each). After 5 weeks in the barrel it's starting to clear. It's got...

    Too much beer

Since the winter break I've accidentally ended up barrelling - Muntins premium gold Midas Touch, with spraymalt - Woodforde's Admirals Reserve, with a speciality yeast - St Peters Rube Red Ale, with soft brown sugar for priming Any advice from this expert community about how to get...

Spray Malt- Con of the century?

Just to follow-up... Have Just barrelled a brew of Muntons premium gold smugglers this week. I transferred from the first bucket to a second fermenter after a week, but added about 40g of medium spray malt - on a whim more than anything. Have now popped it into a kingkeg with a further 40g, and...

    Munton's Gold Midas Touch Review

This is a tasty, reliable brew which I'll be buying again. It's definitely the most flavoursome of the 4 brews I have done (see also my Milestone Olde Home Wrecker and Muntons Best). Has a light aroma and a notably fruity bitterness. My wife bought this for me - part of a home brewing starter...

    Milestone Olde Home Wrecker

Well, leaking barrel put a halt to this one. But will definitely try again. However, needs at least 2 months to mature, I'd say (& more knowledgeable mate agrees) to reach its true potential... Start in early Feb, when sewing your tomatoes, for a decent summer crop :s  DJA

how close do you stick to the beer kit instructions

This was my last kit. It promised to be rather special, but i suffered leaking barrel syndrome & so it never reached it's full potential. If i tried it again (And I will) I'd aim to leave it to condition for at least 2 months. Truly. DJA

    Long fermentation... Reassurance, please ;)

Hi all, Have started a Muntons Premium Gold Smuggler Special - thought id get it sorted for xmas. - Started on 1/10 - Into 2nd fermenter on 6/10 (BUT added 40g medium spraymalt - was thinking body, flavour, strength) - Was expecting to barrel about 22nd Oct, but is still going strong...

    HELP !

Hi all, Reviving this thread as interested to know the outcome... Any update? You see, my Olde Home Wrecker took a teeny glug yesterday (didn't realise flow would stop so abruptly) and now I want to know how long I've got. Should it be okay, or do I invite all my mates round this weekend, to...
