Pear wine in the recipe that I have calls for white grape concentrate. Would it cause a problem if I was to use red concentrate instead?

Is there an alternative for tanin? I've just made a gallon of rosehip wine and realised that I have no tanin left! Its a long journey to the hone brew shop (local supermarkets who stock home brew equipment don't seem to stock it). I've seen tea bags mentioned but don't no if this is a viable...
