    Leaking Barrel

I've just found why the keg is leaking, the tap thread (the bit which actually screws into the barrel) has almost separated from the tap. There's no way I can seal this keg now unless I can get a new tap to fit tomorrow. :(

    Leaking Barrel

After kegging my first brew last night I was told to start dreaming of drinking my beer and went to bed quite pleased with myself. However, I have got up this morning and found a puddle of beer on the floor, and on checking the barrel I have found it is now trickling out of the seal. The tap...

    Using a Hydrometer and thermometer

Thanks for your replies. Yes, MasterBrewer, I've used thermometers before, but as I said, there are no instructions so I didn't know how long it takes to register a reading correctly and I just want to know I'm doing everything correctly.

    Using a Hydrometer and thermometer

Hello, I'm brand new to brewing and have just started my first kit off last night. I've bought a triple scale hydrometer and a thin thermometer, but unfortunately neither have any instructions on usage. I don't even know if the thermometer is supposed to float in the fermenting bin, (I suspect...

    Absolute beginner!

Hello, My name's Garry and I've just started my first ever brew off yesterday (06/12/2013), which was a "Brewmaker Northumberland Brown Ale" kit. I'm an absolute novice but I'm sure I've followed the (very scant) instructions to the letter, disinfecting everything etc., but at the moment...
