I use shredded chipotle a lot in cooking and thought I'd add some to a pale ale brew yesterday.
(Chipotle is a smoked & dried jalapeno chilli pepper)
Nothing to overpower it, just enough to give a real mellow background note. Enough s you know it's there but no more.
The wort tasted amazing - a very subtle smokiness to it and then a slight heat tingle in the throat a minute or two later.
I added 7g to s 20L batch 5 mins before the end of the boil along with 5g of crushed grains of paradise.
