Has anyone tried one of these Inkbird IBS-TH1 devices

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07748V35X/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

I'm interested in monitoring my brew temperatures, I can see the temp each time I wander off to the garage, but it would be fun to be able to see how it has been fluctuating and confirm that the control systems are doing what they are meant to.

Would be also interesting to use it over the mash on a brew day without having to go an look at the thermometer.

I would be nice if this was WiFi for remote monitoring but I could live with out that, just download once a day and look at the history.

I have this

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B06XWD52ZZ/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1512572010&sr=8-9&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=Inkbird

Which is great. In fact I have two. One is unused with 4 sensors. Maybe willing to sell

lots of options out there for a tenner you can buy the xaomi miflora ok its designed for plants but has temp sensor, humidity sensor light sensor and ec meter as well as a battery monitor too all wrapped up in a single tiny package that should run a year on a coin cell. .. if you have any hacking or modding interests this device has been broken into and there are a few how-tos published on using these with node red, mqtt and a wee R-pi

alternativlely if you can solder a 4 pin header onto a pcb the sonoff basic wifi switches https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Son...-d5ac-4c4c-9ecb-1c60219aac1e&rmStoreLevelAB=4

at about £4 each can easily be hacked to include sensors and publish sensor readings on the web. for about £7 you can buy a sonoff TH https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Son...03_31,ppcSwitch_5_ppcChannel&rmStoreLevelAB=4

which has a 2.5mm 4pole jack plug socket into which you can plug a ds18b20 temp sensor or a dht22 temp and humidity sensor without any hacking or modding to provide you with a web based temp reading in real time, (no logging of historical data tho for that you will need to flash alternative firmware such as the tasmota project..

Cheers Fil, I do like a bit of a project so some ideas to mull over there, I do like the idea of having it accessible via the internet.

Don’t you also need the gateway with the xaomi mi

Don’t you also need the gateway with the xaomi mi

No not at all, But if you want to use with a python script on a Pi or similar b/tooth enabled device DONT download and install the xaomi phone app and connect to the device as it will update the firmware 1st thing and afaik the 'current' firmware being updated changes the operation making the hack more problematic.

here is one hack how to, https://community.openhab.org/t/xiaomi-miflora-sensor-integration/17453 afaik the original or some of the first hacks originate in poland so if google throws out a few polish pages dont be shy of checking them out with the browser translate function..

I have one of these Bluetooth devices from Inkbird ...

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B06WRNQ79H/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

Obviously it's not what you want, but as a Bluetooth device it can monitor temperature from about 20m away and through a brick wall so I presume that an Inkbird product such as the one you are looking at will perform just as well.

Hello,
This product can record temperature & humidity (Data record intervals can be set to 10s、30s、1min、2min、5min、10min、30min), the data graph can be downloaded. It has a magnetic base.
We are sorry it is not WiFi monitoring, but will let our technical department know and refine this product.
If there have any questions, please contact us without hesitation.
