Shame about Bevvied. When I went on to brew.co.uk I saw the mini kegs where a pressure and pouring system could be attached. Looks brill. https://www.brewuk.co.uk/containers/kegs/minikeg.html I do wonder how well they clean though? I am using the Coopers 500ml bottles and I fend them a pain to clean out all the time. Just done about twenty odd from the weekend and it took me about half an hour. I know the best way is to clean them out once you have opened it, so I suppose I should stop being lazy and just do that.
Having said that, the kegs do look fab. I also like the idea of pouring draft HB. Still concerned about the cleaning though!

That be the party star tap.

Cleaning is quite easy really. Kind of like a big bottle. soon as I've emptied one, I just put tap water in them and give it a good swirl and tip it upside down (with the tap open so the the water comes out again easily). I do this a few times to make sure all the yeast has been rinsed out. Then I get some kitchen towel an poke about half a sheet in. Then turn the keg upside down and put my finger in the bung hole (ooh, matron!) and turn the keg round and around soaking up as much water as possible. I repeatedly do this until the inside is dry. The put the dust cover on and put away

I've been following this thread with interest.
I assume that the Easy Keg and any contents, and method of dispensing are a step up from below

The only beer I know that can ruin a party and leave you standing alone as Biily no mates Boy do I remember that beer :lol:

OR should I get one of these and do they hold bitter ok besides just lager https://www.klarstein.co.uk/Home-ap...elboon=031b3908984b045d560053b6,4538634,subid

I’ve got one and love it. It keeps the beer fresh for weeks and solved my problem of not being able to chill the kegs properly.

I wouldn’t use mini kegs for lager because you can’t get high enough carbonation in them, but they are perfect for ales, I’ve even got a decent sparkle on an American IPA in one.

This is next up for me:thumb:

As can been seen above The "Old specked Hen" 5 litre has changed the bung system to the bugger system where do I get the replacment bungs from . Also getting one of these is it going over the top a bit to either my home made bitter kegs in or home made lager https://www.klarstein.co.uk/Home-ap...elboon=031b3908984b045d560053b6,4538634,subid

You can get the bungs from a load of places. Also the new bungs are very easy to remove and use again. I think you will find a youtube vid demonstrating this. As an aside, do not clean with boiling water, but hot water is fine.

Thanks Mate will my home made brews if I make them in these 5 litre mini kegs My craft beer will be fine in one of these machines or are they more suitable for lagers

I've chucked 3 of these out because they rusted inside round the seam where it joins and tainted the beer. May have overcarbed them but am wary about getting them again.

Had 2 kegs left with a stout in them. Just put the party star on one of them, tastes of rust. Either I'm not treating them right or they're not worth it.

Lucky I bought 60 bottles recently

The insides can rust if the plastic lining is damaged. It’s only happened to me once *touch wood*!

Well I was hoping I'd damaged it in some way. I'll buy a couple more and give them another go. Love having the party star tap and a keg in my fridge so hopefully it works out.
