Hello all
Still mulling over my upgrade options....either biab with an ace boiler or an all in one system like the bulldog....plus sparge water heater. Both obviously will use hop additions but I can't decide the best option of whether I'd just chuck the hops/pellets in or use a hop bag/dropper type thing to minimise debris...but then there's the question of reduced utilisation...
Also what's the best biab method as regarding rinsing the bag...sparge or dunk or just drain?

Cheers

Just jumping in here so I can see what other peoples preferences are pellet or leaf? I start using pellets but now prefer leaf, however i see you can buy exact amounts of hop pellets from malt miller so may switch back.

As for sparging i mash with full volume and drain squeeze what i can, it's easy and I've yet to be convinced i would get better efficiency by holding some back to sparge with.

I do sometimes dunk sparge if doing a smaller volume in a smaller pan, then top up pan as it boils off.
