I've actually bottled this brew already, but didn't get a chance to make a post about it until now - sat on a delayed train on Easter Sunday.

Made a plain TC following Roddy's recipe. Used Asda cheapo apple juice, coming out to 14 litres in total. Tasted sweeter than expected before bottling it. Since this my first brew, I'm not sure how the flavour will change as it conditions. Will it get more dry?

Cheers,
Lewis

It won't get any drier, did you take a gravity (hydrometer) reading when you were bottling ?

I think I've got a dodgy hydrometer, because it's got a lean to it whenever it's in liquid.

Anyway, reading that the beginning was 1.042 and at the end it was 1 dead on. As far as I remember this means it'll come out around the 5.5% ~ 6% mark.
