I brewed this today using the Grainfather. I didn't follow the instructions for the mash due to using a Grainfather and put 17 litres of water in for the mash at 67 C for 1 hour then took a gamble and shut the pump off and took the top grain mesh off the top, raised the overflow pipe and added 1 litre of water at 75 C at the same time as raising the heater to 75 C. I then put the circulation pipe and top mesh plate back on and let it recirculate for 15 minutes. Ph was at 5.3. Sparge went well with a slow trickle and pre boil wort was quite clear and measured 1.065 with 28 litres of pre boil wort. I thought something was wrong with pre boil wort at that gravity and I think it was 7K of grain so that's an efficiency of 90% (must have grain weight wrong or gravity). The boil was 1 hour with hop additions as per the instructions and post boil gravity with 23 litres of wort in the FV is at 1.069.
The expected OG was 1.060 (72% efficiency ) so I'm amazed with the results.
