I turn the red insert with the hole downwards. Helps to pick up the last drops. :thumb:

thanks bob ...
but doesnt it suck at the sediment ..
as iv noticed with my coopers stout ...

the sediment isn't very firm and movers easley ...
and the only thing stopping it come up the syphon ...
is that little cup thing on the end ...

just a thought ...
you would no better than me as youv used one before ...

haha forget what i just ased its a bottling bucket ..
it shouldnt have any sediment ...
sorry bud ... :D ..

ill turn mine to face down ...

thanks bob... :thumb:

Or just remove it :)

That's what I've done - like you say, if you've got a bottling bucket there's no sediment to worry about anyway.

I just bought the bottom part of one and have it on flexi hose with an attachment to fit the bottom half of my syphon tube too to stop any sediment - if any. I then stick my dj's on a table and can put all sizes of bottles on the floor and fill that way - mine works a treat wouldnt be without it - saves on spills and mess etc.

I have the same bucket mick and i just push the wand inside the black tap that came with the bucket works a treat no leaks or drips no need to change taps!!

thats a great idea.. :thumb: .

i didnt no you could buy just the valve part ...
where did you get it from ...

as i did look in wilkingson and on ebay ...
but could only find the complete wand ...

These save a lot of time I find that pushing fully so the wand is full open then relaxing off a little allows the bottle to fill a bit faster.

I also find it much easier if you can find a worktop with nothing underneath (like the right hand side on the first OP pic) and having a small seat to sit on, saves bending down or crouching which can be a pain by bottle no 40. Also it allows you to tip the bucket to get more out near the end, I use my kitchen worktop as theres a space where an appliance should be.

Nearest to you and me Mick is Keynsham Homebrew Centre. He holds a good stock of all sorts of stuff including the bottling sticks which are essentially the bottom bit of the little bottler.

Cheers,

Stu :)
