Firstly, please pardon the excessive use of acronyms.

I started the HBC Extra Special Bitter AG mash kit on Wednesday 2nd December. All went well and I got around 22 litres at an OG of 1050. Made a starter from Safale 05 yeast that was supplied, pitched and left it alone for a week and a half at around 20 degrees. Went to check on it last night, as it seemed to have quietened down a bit. I took a reading and it's down to 1008. Not a problem so far, but I think I've now roused the yeast a bit again as it is now gurgling through the airlock every minute or so. :-(

Anyone else experienced something similar?

Of course. Not unusual. It nay be fermenting or may just be releasing CO2. Hydrometer readings will tell you if it's finished fermenting.

Thanks. I'll check hydrometer readings again over next couple of days.
