hi all..i brew 3 gallon batches at the moment (ipa style bitter) and I need advice on how much yeast to use...I have used a 11g packet and I know that's over the top but what would be a good amount 3g/5g ??????

I'd say half a pack up to about 1.045-1.050 OG, but I'd just worry about leaving a pack open for longer than a week or two. Have you thought of trying crossmyloof yeast? Ten packs of 11g for less than eight great British pounds. You can throw it in with abandon at that price!

what a waste of hard earned dosh:lol:As Poo says,half a pack is fine. Seal up the half pack and stick it in the fridge for another brew
