Last mon the 13th nov I brewed
36 pints of Wilkos IPA & 37 pints of Woodfordes Wherry.
Both having an OG of 1040
Yesterday 20th I took hydrometer readings.
The IPA was down to 1008 while the Wherry was up around 1018.
Would u say these were normal readings and what could I expect them both to finish around?

The IPA sounds OK and probably can be bottled etc after 14 days or so (maybe Sunday?).

The Wherry sounds "stuck" and this is a very familiar issue on this Forum. There are countless tales of woe that do not necessarily need documenting in detail.

The simplest answer I can think of is leave it until you bottle the IPA and then using sterilised implements and containers, transfer a fair quantity (250ml or so should do it) of yeast slurry from the IPA into the Wherry and give it a stir. With an active yeast in fair quantity, it should ferment out to ~ 1010 or lower in a further week or so.

Whatever you do, don't bottle the Wherry at 1018, whatever it says on the kit instructions - that would be asking for trouble.

TY interesting answer and if it is stuck I will follow that guidance cheers.
