Bit of a lazy start to the day then for some reason the hop-stopper decided to block and required some 'Spatulation' with the plastic paddle.
Yeast Pitched, in the fridge at 20c.

its good to keep track, I know I'll go back to one of my first stout recipes at some point :)

Bottled with 71g of sugar, I'm drinking the last pint out of the bottling bucket as it tastes too good to throw away.
Think it could have stood to be a bit more black! It might be a Trashy Brown!

Consider this recipe officially pinched.

Going to brew it this weekend.

See the blog post for what Dry Hopping I added. **************************/2011/11/13/a ... shy-black/

When I punch this into Beersmith I get nowhere near 93EBC. Even if I pump in 0.45kg of Black Malt I don't get there?!

What do you get?

42.8. Ignore the hop schedule, I was mucking about with some ideas.

When I plop in 0.45kg of black malt, it goes up to about 83.

ahh, well thats bollox then init ;) :hmm:
I've just held up a clear bottle to the light, its Black :)

If you look around on here, you'll find a fair few posts of mine saying that Beersmith is MILES out when it comes to colour.

I can only assume it's a US/UK grain thing.
