Just did a quick extract saison recipe which contained the aforementioned firsts.
I normally rehydrate my yeast and have always boiled small and topped up with cold to get the temp down. This time I borrowed a friends DIY immersion chiller and I am sold, it got 12 litres of wort down to 28 C in about 7-8 minutes.
I also decided to sprinkle the yeast on too, as I was being lazy. Not so happy about that one, mainly because I've never done it before and because I didnt get the instant gratification of the immersion chiller. Fingers crossed it still works though.
