The very first ââ¬Ëofficialââ¬â¢ Pennine Way beers will be launched next Friday, the 30th of June.
ââ¬ËPennine Amblerââ¬â¢ by Kirkby Lonsdale Brewery will be served at the Crown Hotel in Horton in Ribblesdale.
For every pint or bottle sold, a financial contribution will go to the maintenance of the Pennine Way.
A free guided walk up Pen-y-ghent, led by a Pennine Way Ranger, will start at 11am in the National Park car park in Horton and finish mid-afternoon. Then the thirst-quenching qualities of the Pennine Ambler will be put to the test.
Elsewhere on the trail, ââ¬ËPennine Lightââ¬â¢ brewed by The Nook Brewhouse in Holmfirth will be launched in Edale, the start point of the trail. A free guided walk up Kinder Scout will be followed by the opportunity to sample the ale in the Old Nagââ¬â¢s Head.
ââ¬ËPennine Walkerââ¬â¢ brewed by Hadrian and Border Brewery will be launched in Kirk Yetholm, the end point of the Pennine Way. A free guided walk onto the Border Ridge will be followed by a chance to sample the ale in the Border Hotel.
The Trail Manager, Heather Procter said: ââ¬ÅThe three beers will become more widely available over the course of this summer, so do look out for the iconic Pennine Way logo on the pump clips in your local. By buying a pint of Pennine Way beer, you will be doing your bit to protect and restore this classic long distance trail.ââ¬Â
