Does the one you've got boil large volume then?

An excellent question. Yesterday i got a stainless steel Keg. Purchased it on Gumtree. The top was already cut off as it was being used as a water but. The only thing i did not realise is how think the steel is. It must be all of 5mm thick. Its an old Grundy Keg. I had planned to put two electrical elements in it drilling the hole with a 38mm step drill but there is no way the silicon gaskets that i took from the kettles will handle a 5mm thick steel, because they were designed for about a 1mm plastic kettle. the only alternative i can think of is a gas burner, but it would need to be powerful, no wussy burner.
