Hey guys,

I finished putting together my stir plate today, pretty happy with the results!

I put some rice and some food colouring in it to see how efficient it was when testing.

Here's a clip of it in action:

Bought the box from eBay here.

The stir bar and flask were a Christmas pressie (my sister was very confused when she asked me what I wanted). Think it was about £15 for the pair.

Got the fan here.

And I got the magnets here.

As for the switches, power supply and socket etc, I fortunately had those lying around. The power supply has adjustable voltage but it seems to be happiest running at 9v.

Any questions just ask, can't wait to start making starters and culturing yeast from bottles!

Cheers,

Robbie

Bit worried about the colour of your yeast though.....!!

Nice job. Mine is a cigar box, a pc fan and a power supply from an old broadband router. As you say though, it works!
