Just finished the Coniston Bluebird from my first brew :drink: :drink: :drink: :thumb: and have opened the cornie to clean it. There's a residue in the bottom which won't come off with a rinse. I don't want to start using bleach or smbs. What's the best thing to use and is it better to remove the dip tube for cleaning :?:

Definitely take all tubes connectors off and dismantle. As for the residue there are cleaners you can use with SS. Have you tried some marbles in water and a bit of a shake. I've tried that but with plastic balls in a glass demijohn and it works great.

I've never had anything so bad at the bottom of mine that Soda Crystals don't shift with a 15 min soak.

A white plastic scrubby on the end of an arm does it for me

Thanks for the info folks. My arm's too big to get through the cornie opening. I used a bog brush  in the end with quick wash with soda cystal. I'll try antiformin, it looks like effective stuff :thumb:

  you're supposed to clean them :!:
