I'm halfway through the boil and I noticed earlier my I/c had some white powdery stuff dried on. So I gave it a soak in oxy clean and rinsed with water with campden in along with some more water rinses. I've now noticed there is like a brown thin layer on a few bits.
Any idea what this is? Can Iuse the chiller still?
Thanks

You don't need to sterilise the wort chiller , just give it a clean in the sink with fairly liquid etc and add at 15 mins left of boil . The boil will sterilise it and the wash will be enough to clean it . Shiny washed is better as it comes out shiny from boil and the brown **** ( oxidization on copper when left ) will be in the brew .
