I've just taken delivery of a second King Keg - the "instructions" mention lubricating the o-ring before use. Might account for why the first one (pressed back into servicer after oh so many years domant) need screwing down tighter than an MPs pet bird's bottom

When I used to dive, I used silicone grease on o-rings (not sure if I've got any knocking around). My other easy option is petroleum jelly (good old vaseline!).

Any tips on this one? I take it "taint" won't be a problem

Silicone spray/gel/whatever, lubricant is the best but vaseline will do. Over time the v may lead to the rubber perishing, but whether it does that before old age gets to it is another question

It shouldn't be as long as you apply the minimum amount to get a good seal.

Brilliant - thanks Vossy1! Thats what I was hoping. I've got time to dig out the silcone or buy some more but its nice to know I've got a useable backup to hand.

Ditto evanvine - replies crossed, so wasn't being rude and ignoring you...!
