Hi all. Just brewed a festival father hooks best bitter kit that was gifted to me. It was missing the yeast so I used an English ale yeast so4.
The beer has been in the corny about 3 weeks now and it tastes all right .. at tad boring really compared to the IPA kit before it which was epic.
One thing i have noticed and would like other opinions is that whenever i use s04 yeast it always leaves this odd flavour to the beer. I'm not sure if this is a characteristic of the yeast but whenever I use s04 the same flavour is present in taste and smell. I can only describe it as a slight perhaps yeasty buttery smell.
The beer isn't off but this farther hooks best is pretty good dam boring beer.. certainly not my type of beer so i might tip the lot or at 3 weeks in the keg am i being a little to unfair.?
