G'day tipplers, i have just put a vintners reserve 30 bottle kit on (merlot),unfortunately no yeast was supplied in box,so rightly or wrongly i used a lalvin bourgovin RC 212 dried yeast.

I seem to recollect reading on the forum somewhere that this yeast can require the addition of yeast nutrient to help it out, my question is would this still be required with this type of kit?

The nutrient i use like many others is Tronozymol but never used it with a kit that is normally balanced. :wha:

There are subtle differences in the effect of yeast varieties, of which there are literally hundreds, in terms of the final flavour of the wine, but the quality of the ingredients is a far more important factor.
