Put my NEIPA in the fridge to cold crash for 3 days before kegging.
Like a Buffon I still had the blowoff tube attached and in was in a fresh jug of water.
Woke up today and WTF all the water had vanished. Around 1 litre.
Totally forgot that it would suck back into the carboy.

Brew ruined you think or not?
Also it would have sucked Oxygen in too

I think its gods way of punishing me for getting drunk on red wine last night.
 
If it was clean water with no off flavours you might be ok, as it fermented you will get some protection from the alcohol
As with a all brewing mishaps it can go one of two ways you pour it away or you drink it
I would just carry on and see what happens, keep us posted about the outcome
 
Will do. Hopefully like you say the alcohol will kill the nasties.
Just the oxygen pickup I'm worried about

Yor brew will still have it's blanket of CO2 on top of it. The sucked in air will be no different to what happens when you lift the lid on an FV to take a peek.

M8 done it ages ago!! Temped to hoy it out!! But aged it and was ok!
That was just water in the blow out jar! Deferent if using starsan that I use now!
Cold crashing in two ferm fridges now 1st thing made sure the blow off tubes are covered..
Annoying but it's happens
