wilko dark velvet stout 4%

hi mick here... .
2night i done my wilko dark velvet stout...

so i sanitised every thing and got started...
i warmed up the kit in some boiling water ...
for about 5 mins...

as this was going on i boiled 6 pints of water to mix with the brew ...
i opend the kit and poored it into the fv...

i gave this a dam good whisking with my sanitised whisk...

then in went my beerkit enhancer ....

and another dam good whisking this time for about a good 5 mins ...

then i topped it up to 40 pints with cold water...

my first reading was 1.034 at 23c...

and so i pitched the yeast at 23c...

i then snapped the lid on and taped it in place to form a good seal...
and put my air lock in ...


then it was time to put it in my up stairs cupboard...
it will stay in here for the next 8 days...

iv wonted to do this kit for some time now ....
yet never got it till now...
iv been a lover of Courage Velvet Stout for years...
but you dont see it around now ...
but then i dont drink in pubs any more ... :D
so im hoping it tastes like it...

here we are just shy of 24 hrs on ...
and its bubbling away like a good un... :D .

iv just got this velvet stout out of the stairs cupboard ...
because i miss hearing it bubble.. :D .
how sad is that ... :grin:

I like the sound too - except at night! I shut the door on it then, I don't want to be kept awake.

ok i moved my velvet stout to fv number 2 today ...
so it will stay in there for another7 to 10 days ..
then ill batch prime then bottle ... ...

today was booling day for this velvet stout...

my fg was 1.010..

so i sanitised all my stuff ...
i then boiled up 115g of white sugar in a 1/2 pint of water ...

and aded it to my bottling bucket ...
next i syphoned my stout on top of it and mixed it in well ...

i then bottled it with my bottling wand....
when it was all bottled up...
i put them in a box by my bed with 2 other brews i bottled earlyer this week...

so my rack in the shad should look pritty full in a few weeks... :D .

ok so today i moved it to the shed today...

with other brews to be in the cool and age it...
it will stay here un touched for 1 month minimum...

then time to :drink: ...
