So it's true what they say! :thumb:

Your Mother won't admit your hers, your kids won't admit your their father and no-one loves you!

All together now ...

Ah!!! Poor lad!
Keep pretending you don't care!

For those that didn't book a restaurant for mother's day, Free meal on purchase at Ikea

I'm not so bothered by having to get a present from my boy to my wife. There's a nice florist two doors down from the very nice beer shop!

Yep....I'm the same.....except...I hate...& I really mean, hate, Christmas too..! My biggest problem is SWMBO... she thinks it's all wonderful...I have to festoon the house at the end of November - inside & out - with all kinds of plastic n paper ****, laughingly referred to as 'decorations'. we...then, have to 'admire' stupid, headache inducing, flashing lights clipped all over the outside of the house, which yours truly is required to wire up - (as a retired sparks, it's my job) - just so we can tell the neighbours "a pair of twats live here". The up side..? it must wind 'em up (the neighbours)...:thumb:

Don't even get me started on Mother's Day..!

Rant over, I'm back in my cage now...

Well I felt like a right **** walking around asda at 0630 today, just finished me night shift and looking like I'd crawled out of a swamp, buying a card/chocs/flowers/ Baileys on behalf of my bone-idle 14yr old son who was in fetha pushing the zzzz's out. Last time I'm doing it, he's old enough now and can face the consequences next year if he doesn't shape up.

Sharp practice from the florists, they must know it's mainly going to be blokes buying today and the pre made Mother's Day bouquets were way overpriced. I ended up buying a load of different flowers and trying to arrange them myself. My 21 month old pronounced them to be 'yucky'. Glad I bothered!

Just be patient. Not long to go now! :thumb:

Remember, the first eighteen years are the worst ...

... and then you have two years before they inflict their own kids on you!

It's not Mothers Day in Australia. But we have never been inclined in indulge in all the commercialisation anyhow. Same for Valentines day.

When the kids were younger we had to make a bit of an effort, but not so much now.

When I was a young 'un we used to go to the local shop, which I think may have sold flowers and veggies.
2p for a bunch of daff's for mum. I expect dad was still fuming about my sister and I having to pay 4p for a couple of bunches.

Well I did the business and bought a card, flowers AND wine!

The only problem is that I left the price on the flowers and also left the wrapping from the card on the bench and was rewarded with "£2.50 for a card"????

Next year the card will be cheaper, maybe even nothing at all!

Im going to buy some nice flowers from Sainsburys tomorrow, when they are half price:lol:
