I'm toying with the idea of getting a corny keg and I was wondering if it would be ok to use Oxygen to pressurize the keg instead of C02. I have a huge bottle of oxygen in my garage for welding etc so it would be handy if I could use it.
If not then how do I go about getting a cheap gas supply instead of buying those little canisters. I know a guy who sells fire extinguishers etc but I haven't seen him yet to ask about it.

Thanks

Oxygen + beer = malt vinegar

Unless you eat a hell of a lot of chips then don't go there :nono:

The cornie I've got has a S30 fitting in the lid for Hambleton Bard cylinders, these will force carbonate many kegs worth of beer and serve even more if you prime the beer.

They also have a post for connecting much bigger CO2 systems but that's outside my experience.

I thought as much, thanks for the reply. I'll put the corny idea to the back burner until I can find a source of c02. I just like the idea of nipping out to the shed and pouring a pint :)
