Hi all, just picked up my new boiler - looking good, working fine and at a push I think I can probably get 40 ltrs in there. The element is a bit crudded-up (note proper use of technical terminology) and I've given it a once over with lemon juice which gone some way to cleaning it ... but want to give it a go with some citric acid. Anyone know what g/l ratio I should use for a good clean which won't damage anything else?

Cheers m'deers!

My Kettle elements came up a treat with Lidl's W5 hard water cleaner.
I put some water on boil for 10min with several tablets added then once cool gave them a scrub with a nylon brush

Is that the Burco you got off Ebay???

I've cleaned the kettle with lemon before...how bad is it??? what about a soak overnight in lemon can't hurt it..

Excellent .. many thanks indeed folks!
DJ .. yep, that's the one. Will be cleaning it up and then removing the tap for replacing and fitting a new hop strainer.
