taps on cheap kegs...

Hi guys. On my cheap kegs the taps have an 'outer' part which when I clean I can see liquid gets trapped in. I can't get the taps apart, and can't see whether this liquid will come into contact with the brew!??

If you are talking about a "drum tap", I believe Aleman knows how to take them apart.
Failing that, remove the tap from the keg and soak in (open position) your favourite disinfectant.

If its http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Quick-Serve-T...cmd=ViewItem&pt=Home_Brew&hash=item4a95881c27 type then I found you could pop the inner part out by resting it on a table or counter and pushing down on the outer part. It should just pop out with a little pressure.

If its http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Home-Brew-Pla...cmd=ViewItem&pt=Home_Brew&hash=item27b1d70bb4 then I believe a cap on the top can be popped off and the tap disassembled from there.

Hi yes its the quick serve one. I can get the spout out but there is a seperate part on the outside with the fins on...
