Connect Hose to Drum

I have a plastic drum similar to this:

I would like to be able to drain it using a hose connected near the bottom of the drum. If I bore a hole towards the bottom of the barrel does anyone know a connection I could add that would allow me to attach a bsp fitting?

You have two options really

Simple drum tap 5 quid from wilkos

Brass tank connecter 2 piece ball valve then a nipple - probs about 20 quid. I deffo go for a 2 piece as there slightly lighter. Than 3 piece.

I would say use a wood flute or spade bit to cut the hole cheap as chips from screw fit.

Now my turn for question s what you using it for and where did you get the barrel from is it new

Thanks! I am using the drum to steep tea. I got it on Amazon and it was new.

It is made from food grade plastic.

Yea I've seen um for sale but the added postage costs almost cost as much as the barrel
