My first attempt at brewing beer and I had a bash at adding coconut. Here's what happened:

It was actually very good indeed :) The flavours blended into a much smoother, more rounded end product. Will be making again but will use 500g coconut and might try the coopers stout instead. The Muntons has more of an imperial taste without the strength so something more session drinkable would be better I reckon ;)
 
I would imagine that the coconut oils would not be conducive to good head retention. Nice trick for getting rid of some of those oils with frying and the boiling water. Seems to have done an okay job of it

Also, I like the the funnel and tea spoon. Racking into another fermentor with the priming sugar is a bit of a pain.
