Hi does anyone use Summit as a bittering hop? I cant find the hop in the brewmate app but I am experimenting with Summit at 60 min boil and Cascade at 15min and 5 min in a small batch 5ltr AG beer, I have seen some horror stories about getting an onion flavour, unfortunately after I purchased the Summit Hop, is there an alternative name in brewmate or is it that bad they dont even give it as a choice? Cheers

Yes I've used it. Not sure what the onion thing is all about. It's probably blokes with beards sitting in a badly lit dirty room searching for adjectives.

You can add hops in Brewmate. In the Edit menu, I think.

According to Beersmith it is a bittering hop with strong citrus/grapefruit notes. Can be substituted with Warrior, Columbus, Millenium, Tomahawk or Zeus!

They too are American hops.

Thanks both, I have now edited Brewmate :-) its the grapefruit Im looking for, I have also added lemon peel to the last 5 mins so hope to get some citrus notes in the final taste:-)

Summit is more orangey, but mainly if used late in the boil.
