Hi

I'm just about to make a John Bull IPA. I'd like to keg some and bottle some. Is it OK to half fill a keg? I assume when drinking I'll have to put some CO2 into the keg as the pressure in the air space decreases?

Thanks
Brian

You'll have to put CO2 in as the pressure decreases reagrdless of whether you half fill or not. I usually make it about half way through (a fulll keg) before needing some CO2. You might like to consider purging the O2 from you keg at the start as this is the only real downside to half filling your keg. Put the cap on, inject some CO2, let it settle, crack the cap to let the O2 out and re-seal.
