I am going to be starting a Milestone IPA soon which is supplied with a 11g sachet of Gervins English Ale Yeast. Just wanted to know if it was any good or should I swap it for Nottingham or US-05 or something else?

i used theres for their black pearl, it did the job v well, not much else to mention (it was v neutral and wont provide any flavour, can be good or bad). provided the kits been stored correctly and in its sell by date the yeast should be fine. sometimes its worth having a spare packet of yeast though, just incase.

Used to be my stock yeast for many years. Until I switched to SO4, It takes a bit longer to ferment than SO4 but otherwise a nice yeast.

Thanks guys, by the sounds of it it is not too bad. I think I will just use it then which makes life easier :thumb:
