Any recommendations Wolverhampton/Shrops area? One in Bilston and one in Wellington market comes up on searches but not sure if they are any good or even still there!

Does anyone know of any LHBS in North London?

I forgot to mention Biggerjugs in Watford. Not a huge range of stuff, but you can order and collect from their warehouse. I buy most of my standard grains there, very convenient for me.

Rated 5/5 (Have to say that - I work there!)
Happy to offer discounts to forum members - just give me a call...
(Andrew)

If anyone's local to Somerset, we have a late night shopping/open evening on 16th of December. Loads of wines and beers to try, big discounts (was 20% last year, so I would imagine it to be the same this year)
Also got a Rep from a well known homebrewing company coming, so should be a good night.
Would be great to see any of you if you can make it....

London Beer Lab

5/5 - Although they sell do home brew supplies its not their core business but accomodate HBers really well. The owners are very friendly and knowledgable. You can also get as many free 330ml (and some 500ml) bottles as you'd ever need

Going to Brixton for a few pints (Craft and The Effra) after work tomorrow so may pop into here first.

****sticks. Their website says you can collect during the week so I've sent them an e-mail. If not, I shall just spend more time/bunce in Craft. It's a hard life.

I've visited 2 HBS, my nearest being in Bedford - http://www.thehappybrewer.com/
Very helpful and decent amount of stock, they are also good online. 4/5

I also visited a store in Cambridge recently as I was in the area. Although it is not their main business they were really helpful and very keen to make it work 'tell me what you need and I will stock it'

really lucky to have this place in Norwich http://www.goodlifehomebrew.com/

Such a great little shop that is full to the brim of wine making, beer kits and brewing, preserving, distilling, coffee making and so much more.

In the autumn months you can hire the cider equipment, just turn up with your stash and press away.

Does mail order too.

It might not always be the cheapest place (although its not expensive either) but im a firm believer in use it or lose it.

Cheers

London Beer Lab was great, I was probably getting in the way as they were setting up for tomorrow but they were very helpful. Seemed like a very decent price too.

brew-it homebrew shop blackwood gwent,
please everybody support your local homebrew shop. you'll be sorry when they are gone.

Hi all, great replies thanks! Where possible, addresses would be really useful, and your rating out of 5 (5 being the highest). I aim to collate all the results as a reference for everyone. Without addresses and some sort of indication of how good you find them, it would be pretty pointless.....

This is my first post, a big hi to everyone!
I thought I would plug my local homebrew shop, it's called "Spondon Home Brew & Health Foods", but online they call themselves "Creative Wine Making". They've been around as long as I can remember. Always a warm welcome. Infact I was desperate for a four inch keg cap a couple of weeks ago, he'd only got the complete cap with seal and valve, I didn't need it all, so he took it apart for me and sold just the cap, bless him!

At the moment they have a cracking deal on Muntons Premium Gold kits, they're only £19.99! If your order is over £45.00 they'll deliver free in certain areas. Definitely one of the best!

There address is: 77 Sitwell St, Spondon, Derbyshire DE21 7FH

And I would definitely rate them 5/5.

Small and sweet is Granite Rock shop and microbrewery at 19 Kernick Rd, Penryn TR10 9EP 01326 379251
http://graniterockbrewery.co.uk/

As I'm new to home brewing, to me, they seem to have a good range of malts, hops, cleaner and accessories - not so many kits but quite a small unit. They also have cider, wine and liqueur kits. I've always found them helpful and friendly. The cleaner, sugar and spray malt are also cheaper than Wilkos!
They also do free evening brewing tutorials etc

4 out of 5
