Realized my beer stocks were getting a bit low had this in the cupboard so thought I'd get it on so i don't run out .
made with
1 tin wilko sweet newkie brown
500g med dry spraymalt
500g brewing sugar
20g northdown hop tea
filled to 20l
1040 sg
haven't put anything on here for a while just thought I'd have a little update.
cheers

It's not a bad kit but you were right to short brew it. The OG is still a little lower than I'd expect at 20 liters. I know spray malt isn't as fermentable as sugar but I thought the short brewing would more than compensate for that. I'm wanting to do an experiment with this kit soon. I want to use two cans and a can of black treacle to make something strong and rich like a Belgian brown ale.

I know what you mean i was expecting a slightly higher sg hopefully it will ferment down quite low .or maybe i didn't give it enough of a stir still got a good head of foam on top and smelling pretty good so can't be bad.
