I use Whitelabs yeasts and multiply and split the culture into 8 or 10 bottles to keep in the fridge. My questiom is can I use safale 04 or Nottingham dried yeast instead of Whitelabs using the same method?. I use Spraymalt.
Dried yeasts have gone very expensive and I would like to spread the cost of using them.
Cheers

you can do but generally the dried yeasts are a use and throw away job we used to do it but for the price dont bother anymore. Grow the dried yeast cultures in pre boiled spraymalt then store in frodge :thumb:

Just for the record, although this isn't entirely related, don't use the same batch more than 4 or so times if you recycle it after fermentation - if you do, yeast can mutate and cause off flavours...
