I'm trying to find out if anyone has any information on the type of yeast that was used by the former Mansfield brewery?
I have a recipe for a brew they used to do that was a favourite of my dad....Old Bailey.
I am going to make some for christmas and would like to try and be as authentic as possible.

I've done a bit of a search on the web and have not been able to find anything really.
Mansfield's are now pretty much defunkt having been swallowed up by Marstons.....pasteurised, smooth-flow seems to be all that is left along with a brand name :(

Be grateful of any input.

Have you tried Brew labs ? They seem to keep a lot of brewery yeasts and will supply some or recommend something close.

I have a couple of the Yorkshire strains on order from them as it happens.
I will drop them a line......thanks :)

+1 for Brewlabs, I asked for the also now defunct Ridleys yeast spoke to them Friday recived Tuesday,
started starter tonight will step up to make 6 starters.
