I'm sending my daughter back to Uni with the 5 gallons of extract American Pale Ale she brewed. I want to use 2L fizzy water bottles - anyone know how much sugar to prime them with?

I use 2 litre fizzy water PET bottles. I have settled on 2.5 tsp (about 11g) sugar for beers like light pale ales, lagery things etc, and 2tsp (about 9g) for bitter. I recently did a Coopers Canadian Blonde at 2tsp and it was undercarbed. I use a tsp measure that we use for breadmaking.

Is that a level teaspoon or a heaped one?

Thanks Terrym, just what I wanted to know.

And MyQul - she's doing an art subject so beer is probably all that's needed.
