Evening all

I think I found out why my attempt at alcoholic coke (using Polish syrup) failed....

Apparently it has phosphoric acid in it which kills the yeast.. will have to check the ingredients of the syrup I used when I'm next in the Polish shop.

Now to make a summer punch sort of idea.... will see what syrups they have

A peach kinda one might be a goer 😀

When did you add the syrup? The recipe I saw with the soda stream syrup made a sugar wash first and added the syrup along with priming sugar, once a population of yeast had already been established.
 
Mine went in at the start, maybe that was the problem
