I'd guess any glass bottles are fine. The brown ones are used for beers due to hops skunking so it shouldn't be an issue for ciders. Any PET bottles that have held carbonated liquids before will also be fine.

I have the same printer. It's a right ink guzzler!

Just make sure the glass bottles had a carbonated drink in them before they were empty or you run the risk of bottle bombs.

thanks scott.... :thumb: .
i havent opened my wilko brewing sugar yet so dont no if its white or not ...
or do you mean use tate and lyale sugar...
regards mick... :hat: .

I've got one of those printers, and it was an ink guzzler, until it decided to say Paper Jam non-stop, even though there's nothing in the feed route and I've been through every fault correction procedure I can find.

Laser for me next time. I hate inkjets, they all go wrong

hi guys and gals .. :thumb: .
just looked at the instuctions...
and it says to have it in the fv for 4-6 days ...
then bottle and leave in the warm for 2 days ..
then in the cold for 2 weeks ...
is this right only 2 days in the warm in bottles ...
with my stout its 2 weeks in the warm ...???

it also says to put in 1.5kg of brewing sugar ...
iv got a 1kg bag of brewing sugar ...
so ill have to get another ..a
and split it in half ...
that sounds like a lot of sugar ...

it is a wilko cider so i supose they no how much it needs ...

Always ignore the instructions, it doesn't matter what you are brewing... when it's a kit the method is always the same...

10 days in the primary
10 days in the secondary
14 days in the bottles in the warm
14 days in the bottles as cool as possible

With a cider it's generally best to leave it in the secondary for a month or 2, to allow the flavours to develop and mix. If it has a flavour pouch this won't be as crucial but a month would do it the world of good.

Yup that's right. The longer you leave it in secondary the better it will be. It doesn't need to be 20 degrees for that time though, lower is absolutely fine as storage cellars are normally around 12 degrees ish :)

ok wilko apple cider kit...
here we go ...

first i sanitised every thing ...
then in went 6 pints of bioling water ...

the cider kit is sat in very hot water for about 15 mins...

i then added 1.5kg of brewing sugar ...
and gave it all a dam good stir till it all disolved ...

then i added the cider kit then another dam good stir...

first reading is 1.0 42...

then bang in went the yeast .. :thumb: .
another good stir ....

i no some dont stir...
some sprinkle...

on with the lid ...
