That's really high for your cider so I would guess that it's possibly not done yet. A cider will normally finish around, mostly below, 1.000.

It's not overly high for a lager but that's also higher than I would expect a single can kit lager to finish at.

I would check them next week and see where they are at, hopefully the gravities will have dropped :)

ok yesturday i bottled my cider ...
i sanitised everything and then i got started ... :thumb: .

first i disolved 200g of white sugar in half pint of boiling water...
then added it to the bottling bucket ...

on top of that i syphoned the cider from the fv...
giving it a good mix with my big spoon...

when it was all in there ...
i put the fv and syphoning tube to one side and started bottling ...
i used old 2ltre cider bottles and old green glass bottles about a half pint size that i put my lables on . :D ..
see pics ...

i had some of this cider yesturday its ok but very thin ...

its like the apple taste disapears and you take a sip of water theres nothing lingering no after taste...

iv just put another one in my fv ...

010-17_zpsc1d9deca.jpg

so im looking to add some thing to give it a more apple taste that lingers ..
mabe 4 cartons of asda 100% apple juice...

what do you think...

plus my first cider batch ...
its very fizzy at first but it don't stay all the way till i drank the whole pint...
i did use 200g of sugar when batch priming ...
mabe i should use 300g this time ...
also your thoughts on this please ...
what do you think...

Trouble with adding AJ is that the concentration of flavour is probably about the same as the kit, so you don't gain anything, you just get more volume.
If you have a hippyfood shop nearby, see if you can get some AJconcentrate. More apple flavour in less volume - but also a fair chunk of sugar so you have to be careful or it's just loopyjuice.

More sugar won't help. Cider just doesn't hold fizz as well as beer - less protein content. Extra sugar will just make it even more fizzy at the start (possible fountains when you open the bottle) and it still won't last.
However, when I do TurboCider, I always add 1/2l per gallon of something other than AJ, to broaden the flavour, and some of the juices I've tried seem to hold the head pretty well - cherry in particular. Doesn't taste recognisably of cherry at that level but helps fill out the flavour a lot, and same sugar level as AJ so same final ABV.

A while ago this evening, before a long and painful experience with Neteller and Gala Casinos, I had a map of wholefood places round Brizl open in another tab, but if Warmley is where I remember it, they weren't round there. And mysteriously Google won't give me that map again.

I grew up in Keynsham. None of the family left there now though, so quite likely I'll never go back - they're all down Radstock way now.

I was signing up with Gala to get the free subscription offer in PokerPlayer mag. Tried to make the initial deposit from Neteller. Kept getting an error. Logged in to triplecheck the money was there. Thought I'd maybe got the Sec Code wrong, asked to retrieve it, got asked a question I didn't have an answer for in my encrypted all-my-passwords file, got that wrong... account frozen. Had to phone them up, seems there's a list of 4 security questions I had no note of the answers for. Luckily the nice lady coaxed me through the ones that weren't obvious, after I'd got the obvious ones. Still dunno why it wouldn't move the cash though, I'd used a Visa card by then in case Gala timed out. Which is annoying as it's the first time I've deposited from my non-poker accounts since 1997.
