So I had to crack open my Coopers Australian Lager to steal the yeast from it for something else and now need an alternative, rather than just buying a straight replacement does anyone have any advice on what would be a better yeast to use?

Given the heatwave we are having ATM and the fact I have no temp control, I'm guessing an ale yeast would be the only option?

Yup, if you've no temp control you haven't a hope in hell of lagering.

Mangrove Jacks Workhorse yeast is fairly neutral so that one would be good to use to give you a pale ale with the rest of the kit. If the temps (including 2C-3C for the exothermic reation of yeast during fermentation) in your brewing area don't go above 25C US-05 would be an excellent choice

Cheers MyQul, might go for the US-05 then. Current spot is under the stairs which is relatively cool, and FV sits directly on concrete floor slab so that also helps. FV in there sitting at 20/22 degrees at the moment.
