hi guys/gals

is there a beer calculator that can take a kit recipe into account when trying to tweak a recipe?
or do you just add (for this situation) 1.7kg can as malt?
i wanted to add some roasted malt/black malt/crystal choc (steeped) with some MO and TW for the mash, but no hop additons as i plan to get the most out of the kit which ive noticed is 39.5 IBU which will be bitter enough for me.

Also, just wanted to know if as im not adding hops to the boil, could i get away with a 15min boil for the wort?:thumb:

Cheers

Brew Mate allows you to enter a new ingredient, like Coopers Stout but I don't know if it allows you to enter an IBU. But, like you say, this can will deliver about 40 IBU's if brewed to 5 gallons and that is basically all the hops a stout needs.

I would boil fairly vigorously for 30 mins or so, even with no hops. And I would not boil the kit!
