wine not fermenting

Hi I bought a wine kit from Wilko's, after adding 3.5kg of brewing sugar (dextrose from work) it still hasn't started to ferment by day four!
Any ideas very welcome!

Is it definitely not fermenting or is there just no airlock activity (possibly due to bad seal)? I assume you added the yeast.
 
Hi yes I added the yeast but stirred it rather than sprinkled it. It has been at a steady temp of 22.
 
Hi it says to add 3.5kg of brewing sugar then sprinkle the yeast & yeast nutrient sachets on to the wine, stir & leave to ferment. This should take up to 7 days.
This is to make 30 bottles of spicy cabernet sauvignon (wilkos).

Can I just add more yeast? is the dextrose not working? can it be saved?

The current hydrometer reading is 1040
 
What FV are you using.

Kits ihave made started around 10.90 so I think Iit's fermenting but you have a leak so are not seeing airlock activity.
 
Yes I think I may have a leak. I took the lid off & it's bubbling away. Great news!
