After a few :drink: last night I decided to start a kit going. Now I want to brew it short so made the kit up to approx 17ltrs (total guesstimate) and took the SG at 1.060 now I'm going to put probly another 2ltrs (measured) water in it. Now my question is if at the end I've got the SG, FG and I know I added 2 ltrs inbetween can I work out an alcohol content?

take another hydrometer reading now the water is added then say the gravity is 1.050 and the finished gravity is 1.010 so its lost 40 points divide 40 by 7.45 = 5.36%
