Ok I will try not to use it...but my colander has really big holes so not sure it will work, i'll give it a go without the cloth first :thumb:

I'm in.
But just to clarify, are we aiming for 1.046 or was that just an example?

That will roughly be the finishing OG, adding other malts for flavour and colour shouldn't move the OG much. Try and keep somewhere near it.

Well this is very tempting to do as my 1st AG. I have an order on its was which will give me sufficient hops and the LHBS does have some crushed pale malt, so maybe I could get some and do a SMASH with my 6.5L pressure cooker.

It might give me a better insight for when I try to do a 4 gallon batch. :hmm:

How does one do that in old fogey speak?

 - Can you see at the top right of this message Jim it says "Posted: Tue Aug 28, 2012".

Well just to the left of that is a little image like a page. Hover your mouse over it then right click. You should get a menu popup and in that menu you should see something like "copy link address".

Do that then in here when posting you click on the button just below the subject box that says URL
That will insert [ URL][/ URL] (but without the spaces I have included)
In between the ][ type the word you want people to click on e.g. ]click here[
Then after the first URL, type = and then paste the link you copied earlier (if you right click again there should be the option to "paste" in the popup menu.

e.g.
[ URL=http:// http ://www. thehomebrewforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?p=274696#p274696]click here[/ URL]
(again without the spaces I have added to stop if being converted to a link)

Hope this helps

As a side note to this you don't need to bother with the insert URL part of the tutorial if you don't want to re-name the URL. You can just paste it and it'll work just dandy, only showing part of the link :)
